A 72-year-old man tragically died after shooting himself outside the emergency ward of a hospital in Nairobi’s South B area.
The man, Abdalla Mohamed, reportedly fired a bullet into his own chin while sitting in the back of a taxi he had hired to take him to the hospital.
“Mohamed, who held a valid gun license, retrieved his Beretta Pistol from its secure storage and visited his lawyer.”

After meeting with his lawyer, Mohamed requested a taxi from one of his regular drivers.
Upon arriving at the hospital, he suddenly produced the firearm and took his own life while waiting in the emergency area.
“The reason behind Mohamed’s actions and the purpose of his hospital visit remain unclear.”
According to sources, Mohamed typically didn’t carry his pistol with him, but on this particular day, he did so when visiting his lawyer.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to understand the motives behind the shooting.
