Form Two Student Killed, 5 Injured In Night Assault, Nyamira

In Nyamira County’s Ebate Village, a family is seeking justice after a brutal robbery left a Form Two student dead and five other family members injured.

The 17-year-old’s parents are currently hospitalized, recovering from injuries sustained during the attack on Saturday night.

Robert Sitima, the homeowner, recounted how a gang armed with crude weapons descended upon them, fatally assaulting his son outside the house while looting electronics and cash.

“The young man encountered these people outside, flashed a torchlight, and before they could identify him, they attacked him with a knife.

He uttered just one cry, saying, ‘Mom, they’ve killed me.’

These assailants inflicted severe wounds, even causing the blade to break within his body,” explained Sitima.

This incident is part of a series of attacks on the family, leaving them injured each time.

Police have initiated investigations into the robbery.

Lister Nyakerrario, a victim, expressed her despair, saying, “They came around in 2019 and warned us to leave; we shouldn’t stay here.

I have the evidence from 2019 when they first came.”

James Ndege, a relative of the victim, pleaded for government intervention, stating, “These criminals have attacked us four times, robbing, hurting, and mutilating our family members.

We urge the government to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend these individuals.”
