Several severely mutilated bodies wrapped in polythene bags have been discovered at the Kware dumpsite near Mukuru kwa Njenga slums in Nairobi, sparking a grim investigation into the circumstances of their deaths.
All the victims are reported to be female, showing visible injuries and having been bound with ropes. There are concerns that more bodies may yet be uncovered as the search efforts intensify.
An eyewitness who spoke to the media recounted the chilling discovery, expressing shock at the horrific scene.
“A woman approached us, claiming she had dreamt about the whereabouts of her missing sister. Initially skeptical, we accompanied her to the site and found polythene bags containing the bodies,” the eyewitness said.
Further examination of the area revealed multiple bodies wrapped in polythene, some dismembered and bound.
The eyewitness speculated that since there were no prior reports of missing persons from the immediate vicinity, the bodies might have been transported to the dumpsite from elsewhere.
Urging the government to intervene, they emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.
Upon notification, law enforcement promptly arrived and secured the area, cordoning it off to preserve evidence.
The bodies were subsequently transferred to City Mortuary as authorities continue efforts to positively identify the deceased.
Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya, condemned the gruesome discovery and called for swift police action.
“We demand a thorough investigation into these killings.
This is unacceptable,” Odhiambo emphasized, echoing the community’s outrage and concern over the brutal nature of the crime.
The discovery of the bodies has sent shockwaves through the local community and beyond, prompting calls for justice and assurances of safety from authorities.
As the investigation progresses, residents and activists are anxiously awaiting answers regarding the identities of the victims and the circumstances leading to their tragic deaths.
