Frida Mokaya Appointed As Chief Registrar Of Judiciary

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has named Frida Mokaya Boyani as the new Head Administrator of the Judiciary.

The appointment follows a thorough selection process conducted by the JSC to fill the vacancy left by Anne Amadi’s retirement on January 12, 2024.

Out of the 43 applicants for the position, Mokaya emerged as the top choice after the JSC interviewed seven shortlisted candidates on Monday.

Mokaya brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as the JSC Registrar since 2012, following a distinguished career as a Senior Principal Magistrate spanning over 27 years.

Among the other contenders for the position were Macharia Rose Wachuka, Ouma Jack Busalile Mwimali, Wambeti Anne Ireri, Ndemo Paul Maina, Kendagor Caroline Jepyegen, and Kandet Kennedy Lenkamai.

In her new capacity as Head Administrator, Mokaya will be responsible for various tasks, including overseeing the Judiciary Fund, preparing expenditure estimates, and managing administrative and procurement duties.

In the words of the JSC, “We believe Frida Mokaya’s extensive experience and proven track record make her the ideal candidate to lead the Judiciary in fulfilling its crucial functions.”
