The turning point in her career came with an unexpected connection to Fidel Odinga, the late son of ODM leader Raila Odinga. Fidel’s suggestion to cover a news item on his passing led Frida to secure a spot on Season 2 of KTN’s “The Presenter” show. Before joining KTN, she contributed her skills to the now-defunct Kumbamba radio.
After a commendable three-year stint at KTN, Frida bid farewell on March 21, expressing gratitude for the experiences and memories. She joined NTV alongside her mentor Lofty, and the duo collaborated on a song addressing the impact of Covid-19.
Frida Mwaka Marriage
Frida Mwaka is happily married to Samuel Nguma Ndhuli, an architect. Their wedding, held on November 30, 2019, at Mnarani Club in Kilifi County, followed a traditional engagement ceremony in Kibwezi, Makueni County, on August 10. Addressing her decision not to adopt her husband’s name, Frida emphasized her brand identity and independence.
“Mambo yangu ya ndoa naya weka chini ya maji. Fridah Mwaka is a brand on its own. We agreed that matters to do with my career, ni Maisha yangu.”
She debunked rumors suggesting a 17-year relationship with Samuel, clarifying that they had known each other since childhood and had occasional encounters over the years.
