Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a notable purchase on Wednesday at the Nairobi International Trade Fair livestock auction, acquiring two champion bulls for a total of Sh1.6 million.

The second champion bull, also a three-year-old Boran from the same company, weighed 580 kilograms and was bought for Sh550,000.
This auction was part of the ongoing Nairobi International Trade Fair, which began on Monday, September 23, and runs until Sunday, September 29, at the Jamhuri Park Showground on Ngong Road.
The event has drawn over 500 exhibitors from various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, housing, banking, and education, showcasing a wide array of innovative technologies.
Joseph Mugo, Chairman of the ASK Nairobi branch, emphasized the event’s focus on promoting climate-smart agriculture and trade initiatives, aligning with this year’s theme:
“Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
Mugo highlighted the importance of the fair in providing a platform for sharing knowledge, new innovations, and advanced technologies through live demonstrations, workshops, and interactive training sessions.
This aligns with the national agenda to boost agriculture and trade.
Admission to the fair is priced at Sh300 for adults and Sh250 for children, with special rates of Sh250 for adults and Sh200 for children available to schools and farmer groups with at least 10 participants.
