The National government has allocated funds for various educational programs, including free day secondary schools and institutions of higher learning.
According to Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Ezekiel Machogu, the government has disbursed Sh16 billion for the free day secondary schools education program and Sh7 billion for public junior secondary schools.
Dr. Machogu also revealed that Sh6.794 billion has been released to the Higher Education Loans Board for student loans, with an additional Sh3.98 billion earmarked for scholarships through the Universities Fund.

In a statement, Dr. Machogu assured that a total of Sh30.5 billion has been allocated to cover secondary school education capitation and scholarships for university students.
He emphasized that these funds would be delivered to schools before the April holidays.
Dr. Machogu highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting students’ success in universities and higher institutions through scholarships and loans.
He stated, “The government has given scholarships of almost 80 percent and also 20 percent loans to ensure there is success in our universities and higher institutions of learning.”
Speaking at the Kipkelion East Academic Day event at Sacred Hill Girls Secondary School in Londiani, Kericho County, Dr. Machogu announced the disbursement of NG-CDF bursaries worth Sh50 million.
These bursaries will benefit needy students in secondary schools, colleges, and universities in the Kipkelion East constituency.
Accompanied by Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Paul Rono and Kipkelion East MP Joseph Cherorot, Dr. Machogu also inaugurated ten renovated classrooms at Chepkongony Comprehensive Schools in Kedowa Kimugul ward.
MP Joseph Cherorot expressed his commitment to upgrading academic and educational infrastructure to modern standards, applauding the efforts of school boards, administrations, and teachers in shaping students’ academic paths and lives.
