Gunmen Shoot And Kill Businessman In Nakuru, Escape Without Stealing Anything


Detectives are investigating an incident in which a Nakuru-based businessman was shot and killed by gunmen who had trailed him for a short while.

Police believe the gang targeted John Ndehi Muriu, 54 for an unknown motive.

He was from his business in Pondamali in Nakuru with his wife when they were attacked on Saturday morning.

According to police, when the couple reached their Abedare estate, two motorcycles approached them before another person emerged from a maize plantation.

They shot him in the leg prompting his wife to escape into the maize plantation.

Muriu was rushed to Nakuru Level V hospital where he succumbed due to bleeding.

The body was removed to PGH Nakuru mortuary awaiting postmortem.

A spent cartridge of 7.62mm, a face mask, and the deceased mobile phone were recovered at the scene, police said.

Police say they are yet to establish the motive of the incident.
