Israel has launched a series of strong attacks on Lebanon following a deadly rocket strike on northern Israel that killed a woman and wounded others.
Reports from Lebanese media indicate that villages have been hit and buildings set ablaze.
Hezbollah, believed to be behind the attack on Israel, has not taken responsibility.
Both sides have been exchanging fire along Israel’s northern border since the October 7 attacks by Hamas.

“Fighter jets have launched a widespread series of attacks in Lebanese territory,” said Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

Hagari mentioned that the IDF would provide more details about the recent airstrikes soon.
The attack from Lebanon targeted the Safed area in northern Israel, specifically aiming at the Israeli military’s northern command center, according to the IDF.
Footage shows one of the rockets hitting near the entrance of a hospital.
Hezbollah, a Shia Muslim group, is among the world’s most heavily armed non-state military forces.
Established in the early 1980s with support from Iran, a dominant Shia power in the region, Hezbollah was formed to oppose Israel.
