Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua Sunday made new demands to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) including calls that electoral servers be opened to reveal the truth behind the August 2022 results.
Taking to social media on Sunday, the Azimio la Umoja deputy presidential candidate in the 2022 polls said the servers should be shown to the public, noting that Kenyans have a right to be furnished with its contents.
Karua said the truth should be brought forth and redeem citizens from “electoral deceit”.
“IEBC as the duty bearer holds the records on our behalf. The records belong to us and each and every office exercises ALL power on our behalf, wherever you are, whoever you ARE listen and do what the constitution sanctions, lay bare the servers!,” she wrote on Twitter.
“The truth shall not be forgotten, shall not and cannot be buried, the truth will always OUT! The time is now.”
Her demands come days after Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said they have a report showing Raila Odinga won the August 2022 election against president William Ruto.
Kioni, said the whistleblower report showed that Raila garnered 8,170,355 votes ahead of Ruto who reportedly managed 5,919,973 votes.
“As I said, the whistleblower is not hiding his identity. This is a study done by a group known as Vanguard Africa, an NGO that partners with pro-democracy leaders across Africa,” he said.
Karua dared those doubting the claims to demand the servers be opened to also apprise themselves with “the truth”.
“As citizens, we have a right to information, the truth lies in the servers, those doubting the whistle-blower’s data should demand servers be laid bare, we have to get to the bottom of this to free Kenya once and for all from electoral deceit,” she noted.
“Under discussion is crucial evidence via a whistleblower, which on the face of it is authentic, anybody doubting we have our records to refer to aka SERVERS period.”
Raila plans a rally on Monday to address the whistleblower’s account of the 2022 polls.
“Upon arrival, Mr. Odinga will proceed to the Kamukunji grounds in Kamukunji Constituency for a People’s Baraza consultations with the public where they will discuss recent disclosures by a whistle-blower on the conduct of the 2022 general election,” read a statement from Raila’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango.
Raila is in South Africa for a series of meetings in his capacity as the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
