Kenya Forest Services Monday announced more than 2000 vacancies for the positions of a forest ranger, forest assistant, and forester.
The agency will recruit 2,000 forest rangers, and 40 forest assistants and the forester position has 260 vacancies.
“KFS invites qualified, performance-driven, and highly motivated individuals to fill the positions of a forest ranger, forest assistant, and Forester,” KFS said in a paid advertisement in the newspaper.
“This will enable the service to fulfill its mandate effectively and drive the country towards the attainment of 30 percent tree cover by 2023, from the current 12.13 percent.”
The recruitment for forest ranger positions will take place on March 8, 2023, from 8 am across the country at respective recruitment centers.
They should carry along the original and photocopy of their National Identification Card, academic certificates, and testimonials.
Additionally, those interested in forest ranger should have scored D plus and above in KCSE, aged between 18 and 28 years, be 5.6 ft for men and 5.3 ft height for women.
Pregnant women will not be recruited.
They should also have a valid Clearance certificate from DCI.
Interested candidates for forest assistant and forester positions should first apply on the agency’s website (www.kenyaforestservices.org).
After the online application, they should print the notification email, which should be on the first page of the hardcopy application.
The applicants should ensure they quote the reference number for the position applied.
They are also required to attach a CV, copies of relevant testimonials, academic and professional certificates, and a copy of their National Identification card.
The hardcopy application should be delivered physically or through the post office to the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kenya Forest Services, Karura, Off Kiambu Road, P.O Box 30513-01100, GPO. Nairobi Kenya.
Candidates interested in Forest Assistant positions should have a minimum D plus grade in KCSE, have a certificate in forestry from a recognized institution, be proficient in computer packages and have a clearance certificate from the DCI.
Applicants for Forester positions should have a diploma in forestry.
