Kenya Power, the company that provides electricity to homes in Kenya, has shared the news that their prepaid token purchase system, which Kenyans use to buy electricity credits, will be temporarily unavailable.
This will happen from midnight on Saturday until early Sunday morning.
“Our prepaid vending system will be temporarily unavailable due to essential maintenance from Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:50 pm to Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 5:00 am,” read the Statement.
The reason for this is that they need to do some important maintenance work on the system to keep it running smoothly.
“During this time customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens via prepaid Paybill number 888880 or Airtel Money.”
So, starting from Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:50 p.m., you won’t be able to buy electricity tokens using the prepaid Paybill number 888880 or Airtel Money.
Kenya Power wants to say sorry to all its customers for any trouble this might cause during this short downtime.
They are working hard to make sure everything goes back to normal as soon as possible.
