LinkedIn, the professional social media platform, is making changes to its organization.
They are laying off 668 people from different departments like engineering, product development, talent, and finance.
The reason for this is to improve how they work.
The company explained in a blog post that making these changes is hard but necessary for their business.
“Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business,” the company said.
Microsoft owns LinkedIn, and they are focusing more on using artificial intelligence.
They recently introduced AI to help recruiters find job candidates, and it’s becoming popular.
Back in May, LinkedIn already cut 716 jobs and closed its job app in China because people were using it less, and the company was not making as much money.
The CEO, Ryan Roslansky, shared this news in a letter to the employees.
Even though the tech industry had many layoffs last year, LinkedIn gained more users and had more people using their platform.
They also made more money. In their most recent report, they said they made over $15 billion, and their number of members is still growing.
So, LinkedIn is adjusting how it works to keep improving, and part of that means letting some people go.
They are working on using AI more, and they have high hopes for the future.
