The government has declared Tuesday, December 27 and Monday, January 2, as public holidays
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Thursday told the Eagle News Feed the two days will be observed as public holidays giving Kenyans a four-day Christmas weekend.
This year’s Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays while Boxing Day is on a Monday.
This has necessitated the move to declare the two days public holidays.
A gazette notice on the issue was expected to be out by Friday, December 23.
