The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has maintained its targeted boycott of selected judges and judicial officers, citing outstanding commitments on judicial accountability and administration of justice.
LSK President Charles Kanjama, said the boycott remains in force as the Society continues to push for implementation of resolutions reached during a strategic engagement with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and the Judiciary on July 31, 2026.
The Society has directed its members to refrain from appearing before the judges and judicial officers identified under the targeted boycott until further communication from LSK.
During a media briefing, LSK highlighted several commitments it says remain outstanding, including the constitution and convening of a Joint Committee to oversee agreed actions.
The Society also called for the publication of judicial performance reports and the implementation of an electronic system for lodging and tracking complaints against judicial officers.
Other outstanding issues include the resolution of pending petitions before the JSC, operationalisation of Court-Station Integrity Committees and access to the draft Disciplinary Process Regulations.
LSK further said there was a need to develop a framework addressing judicial independence and institutional accountability.
The Society reaffirmed its commitment to structured engagement with the JSC and the Judiciary, while insisting that implementation of the agreed resolutions remains central to its efforts to strengthen accountability within the justice system.
The targeted boycott will remain in place pending further communication from LSK.
