Police are investigating an incident in which a 32-year-old man stabbed and killed his girlfriend before he tried to die by suicide.
The motive of the June 15 incident at Hells Gate, Naivasha is yet to be established.
Police said they were called and informed the man had killed his girlfriend and tried to swallow poison in a bid to die.
A team of police who arrived at the scene found the naked body of an unknown woman aged about 30 with stab wounds in the neck.
The body lay on a mattress in the house with blood caked around it.
On the floor was the man who lay unconscious and empty bottles of herbicides were recovered in the house, police said.
The man was rushed to the hospital and admitted in serious condition.
The body of the woman was taken to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
In Ngeteti village, Gilgil one Duncan Njoroge Mwangi, 60 was killed in an incident.
His body was found lying in a pool of blood in his house with an injury on the forehead.
It was established that the deceased had differences with his neighbor and in the process, he hit him on the forehead with a wooden jembe handle.
The suspect who had been subjected to mob injustice was rescued and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The murder weapon was recovered at the scene.
Elsewhere in Bahati, Nairobi, a Ugandan national was stabbed and killed in a confrontation with suspected thugs.
Emmanuel Muleme, 25 was stabbed in the chest as he wrestled with suspected thugs on June 14 at night.
He had been stopped by three people on a motorcycle who tried to rob him of his mobile phone and wallet.
He resisted and in the process, one of the passengers stabbed him in the chest and stole his wallet.
He was rushed to Mary Immaculate health center where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
The body was removed to the City mortuary awaiting postmortem.
