A seven-year-old boy is missing after he was attacked by a crocodile in Dawa River, Mandera County.
The boy was swimming in the river with other friends on June 14 when the crocodile struck.
The witnesses said the animal dragged the boy into the waters and he is yet to be found.
A search was conducted in the area in vain.
It is suspected the crocodile killed and swallowed Hassan Jamal Mohamed.
Police said the assistance of local divers has been called in efforts to get the crocodile.
Dawa River flows through three major countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia, with 81 percent falling into Ethiopian territory.
Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident in which a two-year-old girl drowned in a pit latrine in Mumbolole village, Kakamega County.
The girl was with her mother when she drowned in the latrine, which also had water inside unclear circumstances.
Police were called to the June 14 scene and retrieved the body and took it to the mortuary.
