Police are investigating an incident in which the body of a 35-year-old man was found in his house in the Shauri Moyo area, Nairobi.
Daniel Maingi had not reported to his place of work since May 8 prompting his workmates and bosses to check on him at his house in Blue Estate.
Police said it was then that he was found dead on the floor of his house.
The house’s caretaker reported that the deceased had complained of general body pain on May 9.
His body was found on May 10.
The body had no visible injuries when the police took it to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe, police said.
Meanwhile, a suspected thief was lynched by a mob in the Embakasi area, Nairobi.
A second suspect was rescued by police and taken to the hospital.
Police said the two were riding on a motorcycle on May 10 with no registration numbers and were accused of being thugs.
The motorcycle was set on fire.
The mob landed on the two killing one before a second one was rescued and taken to hospital.
Police discourage mob lynching and call it criminal.
They want suspects to be surrendered for processing.
