Police are investigating an incident where a 7-month-old baby died after she slipped from her epileptic mother’s hands at their residence along Kirinyaga Road, Nairobi on Wednesday, May 10.
The baby’s father Ahmed Laal said the wife, who is epileptic was carrying the child on the balcony of their Orbit House residence when she experienced the attack and lost control.
The child, Umaira Ahmed, slipped and fell from the fifth floor to the ground, sustaining severe injuries.
She was rushed to Park Road Nursing Home where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police transferred the body to Pangani Mosque for preservation ahead of the planned interment.
And police are investigating the murder of a caretaker of a construction company in Industrial Area, Nairobi during a robbery mission on Tuesday night.
The body of Kingiri Kawaro was found in a corner at the Dmanji Construction Company.
Workers reporting to the facility said they found the gate open while the security guard and the deceased were missing.
They later found Kawaro’s body with blood oozing from his eyes in a corner while the guard is yet to be found.
It was later realized the deceased was hit in the head with a blunt object and left for dead.
Assorted construction materials, including metal rods of unknown value, were stolen during the robbery.
Police said they are holding four suspects over the incident and that they recovered the materials at a roadblock in the area hours after the robbery and murder.
Two lorries that were carrying the same were also seized and detained at the Industrial Area police station pending further probe.
The suspects have so far been arraigned and police granted a week to investigate the incident.
