Man Attacked And Killed In Magumba, Lamu County

A 48-year-old man was allegedly killed in Magumba, Lamu Central, on Monday afternoon, with police launching a search for the suspected assailant.

The deceased, identified as John Wambua Muthengi, was reportedly attacked at the home of Sera Charo Ngole at around 3 p.m. on September 14, 2026.

According to the police, Muthengi was allegedly killed by a man who escaped after the incident.

Police officers visited the scene and found the victim’s lifeless body.

The body had a deep cut on the right side of the head, just below the right ear, with blood stains visible on the body.

The suspected murder weapon was not recovered, and the motive for the killing had not been established by Tuesday, police said.

The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Mpeketoni Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits an autopsy.

Police have commenced efforts to trace and apprehend the suspect.

And a 52-year-old man has died after allegedly being assaulted by a neighbour during a boundary dispute in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County.

The deceased, identified as Japheth Masibo, was reportedly attacked on the evening of September 5, 2026, by a neighbour.

According to police, Masibo’s condition deteriorated on Monday, September 14, prompting family members to rush him to Life Spring Private Hospital in Nyasi Farm for treatment.

However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body was transferred to Kiminini Cottage Mission Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.

Police officers visited and processed the scene, documenting the incident. The report indicated that no visible physical injuries were observed on the body.

The suspected assailant remains at large as police efforts to trace and apprehend him continue.
