Man Dies After Electrocution Near Electric Fence In Masinga, Machakos County

A 44-year-old man died after he was electrocuted near an electric fence close to the shores of Masinga Dam in Masinga Sub-County, Machakos County.

The incident was reported on Wednesday after a caretaker informed the owner of the property that a person had been electrocuted along the electric fence.

Police officers visited the scene and found the body of Andrew Mutinda Ndunda lying on the ground near the fence in a supine position. Officers noted that the deceased had no visible physical injuries.

The scene was processed, photographed, and documented before the body was moved to Mbaku Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.

And police in Nairobi have launched a murder investigation after a 30-year-old miraa vendor died while receiving treatment for injuries allegedly sustained during an assault by a customer.

The incident was reported after the deceased’s brother informed officers of the death.

According to the report, the deceased, identified as Luka Koome, was allegedly assaulted by a customer on July 2, 2026, at around noon at the Country Bus area in Nairobi.

The assault was reported to Muoroto Police Patrol Base later that afternoon.

Koome was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta National Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 6 at about 3:30 p.m.

His body was transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police have since reclassified the case from assault to murder and are pursuing investigations, including efforts to apprehend the suspect who was reportedly known to the victim.

Such deaths have been on the rise in the country after assault.

Police say the incidents remain under probe and efforts to solve them are ongoing.

Most suspects are known and have since been arrested or are being sought to face justice, police said.
