Over 100 dolphins have sadly died in the Amazon River in Brazil.
This happened because the water is super hot, even hotter than 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
The dead dolphins were found in Lake Tefé over the last week.
Scientists at the Mamirauá Institute, which is supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, are worried because these many dolphin deaths are not usual.
They think it might be because the lake is hot, and there’s a big drought in the Amazon.
This news is making climate scientists more worried about what humans are doing to the environment.

The Amazon River is the biggest in the world, and right now, it’s not getting enough water because it’s the dry season.
This is causing problems for many animals living in the river.
Some people are trying to help the surviving dolphins by moving them from smaller water areas to the main river, where the water is more relaxed.
But it’s hard to do this because the place is very remote, which means it’s far away and difficult to get to.
Plus, they need to make sure the dolphins are not sick before letting them go into the wild river.

This drought in the Amazon is also affecting the economy.
In 59 towns in Amazonas State, there’s not enough water for boats to move around, and it’s hard for people to catch fish.
The authorities are worried that the drought will get even worse in the next few weeks, and more dolphins might die.
