Man Lynched By Mob In West Pokot After Killing 76-Year-Old

In Lomut, West Pokot, a 27-year-old man was killed by a mob on Monday after being accused of murdering a 76-year-old local resident.

The victim, Kapelinyang Kasakek Domokwang, was found dead with severe axe wounds, allegedly inflicted by the suspect, Keti Kapel.

Domokwang’s grandchildren discovered his body early in the morning when they went to wake him for their agricultural tasks.

Shocked by the sight, the children alerted their parents, who then informed the villagers.

The enraged community swiftly tracked down Kapel, who had sought refuge in a locked room.

They took matters into their own hands, administering mob justice before law enforcement could intervene.

Preliminary reports indicate that Domokwang suffered extensive injuries, particularly to his head and back.

Kapel was discovered with head injuries and a broken leg.

The reasons behind the fatal attack remain unknown.

Authorities have recovered an axe, suspected to be the weapon used in the crime, as part of their investigation.

Both victims’ bodies have been taken to Kapenguria Level Four Hospital for autopsies.

Pokot Central detectives have launched a comprehensive inquiry to uncover further details about the incident.
