A Burundi woman was stabbed to death in a fight over sex in a lodging in Mombasa.
The woman identified as Ndayizeye Nadine had earlier on Monday night booked a room at Mika Guest house in the company of a man who is missing.
She was stabbed in the neck and chest after a disagreement.
Police said they were alerted by the management of the guest house there was a body in the room Tuesday morning.
A team that visited the scene said they recovered a kitchen knife covered with blood stains, a 500ml bottle of liquid suspected to be acid and clothes of both the suspect and the deceased.
The suspected identified as Mirigo Ogembo, a Kenyan male adult, with whom they had booked the room together the previous evening according to the records, is believed to have escaped by jumping over the window.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other processes.
Police say the hunt for the suspected assailant is ongoing to establish what prompted the incident.
In Majengo slums, Nairobi, a Tanzanian commercial sex worker was admitted to hospital with injuries after a fight with a man in a room.
The two had booked a room for sex when a fight broke out.
The man who escaped stabbed the woman in the stomach and thighs.
Police say they are looking for the said assailant.
