Tanzania’s showboating pro boxer Karim Mandonga will January 12 have lunch at the popular eatery, Mpambe Dishes, in California Estate, Nairobi.
“We want him to get a feel of the other side of Nairobi, and Swahili dishes at Mpambe,” said Mike Odongo of Solid Rock Promotions, organizers of Saturday’s 11-bout card at KICC Ballroom from 6 pm.
“He will be spoilt for choice, there’s biriani kuku, nyama, pilau, wali wa nazi na samaki wa kupakwa, mahamri name it, atapenda mwenyewe.”
After lunch, Mandonga will visit his opponent Daniel Wanyonyi at Gikomba Market under tight security given his temperamental nature.
He could decide to go bare-knuckle against Wanyonyi who sells clothes at the market as a side hustle.
Madonna’s held a presser at MAA Hotel in Hurlingham before heading to Mpambe for the lunch date.
Former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo was present.
