Joseph Mwadulo, a 17-year-old student of Chakavali Boys’ High School who lost his life in a fatal road accident at Mamboleo junction, in Kisumu County on April, 2024, will rest today, Friday April 12.
Joseph’s mother, singer Mary Wangari Gioche, popularly known as Karen B, on Thursday evening, disclosed that the late young man will be buried in Embu County.
The burial program will begin at the Kenyatta University Mortuary, where mourners will gather around one o’clock in the morning before proceeding to Embu.
“We will put him to rest tomorrow (April 12). We will bury him at Kimangaru, Embu. We will meet at the mortuary of Kenyatta University at 12:30 in the morning to give people time to arrive then we will leave KU at half past one,” she said during a live fund raising session with gospel musician Karangu wa Muraya.
The Mugithi singer revealed that many students of Chakavali High School will be among the mourners who will attend the burial of his son Embu.
She added that students have vowed to attend the burial in their school uniform to pay respect to the ‘departed soldier’ who unfortunately left them.
“Students of his school will join us at the burial ceremony, they say they will come in uniform because they say Joe was a soldier, a hero and died in his school uniform,” she said.
She also hinted that they intend to end the burial activity as early as possible to allow people to leave early, as there will be many children at the event.
On Thursday evening, musician Karangu Muraya managed to inspire a large number of netizens to donate money for the funeral of the late Joseph Mwandulo.
During the fund rising-session, Karen B revealed that they already managed to complete part of the funeral preparations but noted that there are still many things that are waiting to be addressed. She said that the funeral budget was more than Ksh 2 million.
Karen B’s son, Joseph Mwadulo, lost his life on April 1, 2024, after the bus was taking a group of Chakavali High School students home had an accident at Mamboleo Junction in Kisumu County.
