Siaya Governor, James Orengo, has issued a stern warning to President William Ruto, emphasizing that he will not be permitted to continue intimidating the courts.
Orengo stressed the importance of the president understanding that he is not exempt from the law, urging him to let the judiciary operate independently.
Speaking at the opening of a modern market in Nyadorera trading center, Alego/Usonga constituency, Orengo expressed concern about potential repercussions if the judiciary is not allowed to function freely.
He urged the president and his allies to refrain from interfering with the courts, emphasizing the critical role of an unbiased judicial system in the country.

The governor firmly stated, “You are not going to intimidate the courts. Nobody is above the law in Kenya.
Our president must let the courts do their work without interference from politicians or government officials. Without a free court system, this country could be in serious trouble.”
While acknowledging the need to address corruption within the judiciary, Orengo asserted that there is a proper legal process to deal with corrupt judges and magistrates.
He pointed out that the current criticism from the Kenya Kwanza brigade stems from their dissatisfaction with certain court decisions.
Orengo acknowledged the existence of some rogue or corrupt judges and magistrates but cautioned against using their actions to intimidate the entire judiciary.
He called upon President Ruto to champion the rule of law in the country and emphasized the importance of respecting the independence of the judicial system.
