Julius Bitok, the head of Immigration and Citizen Services, shared some important information.

He said that the government has already made more than 87,000 passports, but the people who applied for them haven’t come to collect them yet.

Mr. Bitok spoke on Friday when he met with the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs).

The meeting was led by Felix Koskei, who is the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service.

They met at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Lower Kabete.

Mr. Bitok wants to assure everyone that there is no more corruption happening in the Immigration Department.

He encouraged Kenyans to visit the office to get their passports.

He promised that it would be a quick process.

He said, “I want to tell the country that we have been able to turn around immigration and that right now Immigration is a corruption-free zone and that we are doing everything possible to ensure that Kenyans are able to get their passports within seven days.”

“We have cleaned the place and we are happy to inform the country that feel free to come for your passport and don’t pay anything to get your passport.”

Mr. Bitok also talked about the national digital system called Maisha Namba.

He said that it’s on track and will be coming soon. This digital identity system will help stop corruption, make services better, and bring in more money for the government.

Many important people attended this meeting, including Regional Commissioners, County Commissioners, Deputy County Commissioners, and top officials from the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
