Passengers Safely Exit Plane On Runway After Engine Fire At Singapore Airport

Recently, something dramatic happened at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

A plane from Air China had a problem when it landed.

One of the plane’s engines caught fire, and this caused the airport to close for three hours.

People who were on the plane had to quickly leave it.

They did this using special slides that helped them get out in emergencies.

The engine was still on fire when they got out, and it looked pretty scary.

Inside the plane, the air was filled with smoke.

Thankfully, all 146 passengers and nine crew members managed to leave the plane safely.

They did this around 4:15 p.m. local time.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore confirmed this in a statement.

It took about 10 minutes to put out the fire in the engine.

During the evacuation, nine passengers had minor injuries from breathing in smoke and some small cuts.

There was also smoke in the front storage area and one of the bathrooms, according to Changi Airport’s post on a platform called X (which used to be called Twitter).

Air China explained that this happened during their flight CA403 from Chengdu Tianfu Airport in China to Singapore Changi Airport.

They noticed the smoke inside the plane before landing.

Air China initially thought that something went wrong with the engine and caused the fire.

They are now looking into the problem more closely.

This incident reminds us of a sad event last March when a China Eastern Airlines flight crashed, and no one survived.

This was the worst air accident China had seen in more than ten years.

The plane was a Boeing 737-800 carrying 132 people, and it was flying from Kunming to Guangzhou.
