Police Arrest Woman In Machakos On Suspicion Of Murder

Police in Matuu, Machakos County, are holding a 21-year-old woman in custody after she allegedly stabbed her 23-year-old husband, Rodney Muasia, to death on Wednesday.

The woman was arrested after seeking treatment at Matuu hospital, where she claimed to have injured herself out of anger.

She was treated for her injuries before being taken into police custody.

According to neighbors, they heard loud shouting coming from the couple’s house and rushed over to investigate.

Upon arrival, they found the woman holding her husband, who had been fatally wounded.

The suspect reportedly told them that her husband had wronged her, prompting her to stab him with a kitchen knife during the altercation.

Law enforcement officers recovered the bloodstained knife from the scene, which will be used as evidence against the woman in court.

The police have launched a full investigation into the incident and have indicated that the suspect will undergo mental health evaluations as part of the ongoing probe into the murder.

The victim’s body was taken to Matuu hospital mortuary, where it will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have said that further investigations will focus on uncovering the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.

Residents of the area expressed shock and concern over the tragedy, with many noting that the couple had not previously shown signs of serious domestic issues.

The case has sparked conversations around domestic violence and mental health in relationships, with some calling for more community-based interventions to address such conflicts before they escalate.

Meanwhile, police officers in Matuu continue to gather statements from witnesses and review evidence from the scene.

The suspect is expected to face murder charges once investigations are completed and will appear in court to answer to the allegations.
