Police in Murang’a County are investigating a bizarre case where the body of a man was found and his private parts chopped off on February 2, 2023.

The body had a knife in the chest, and chopped parts lay a few feet away from the tree.

The incident puzzled the residents and police as to whether it was a case of suicide or murder.

Kahuro Deputy County Commissioner Frederick Muli said they are exploring all options about the death.

The victim was identified as Charles Moko from Kari Village.

The deceased’s body was first discovered by his brother Simon Mburu who alerted the locals and police.

“On the ground were personal documents identifying the man, a machete and the genitals which we confirmed to have been his,” Muli said.

“We do not want to speculate about the cause of the death, and we are ready to wait for the government to give us an answer,” the deceased’s father, David Mwangi said.

The residents were urged to volunteer information to help the authorities investigate.
