Two suspected thugs were Tuesday morning shot dead by police in a botched robbery in Kayole, Nairobi.
Police said two others managed to escape in the incident in Kosovo area.
According to police, the two were part of a group of four people who were robbing people on their way to work early Tuesday morning.
Police said the two who were gunned down had terrorized residents for a long time and had previously been arrested for similar crimes.
Police officers on patrol had received information about suspected thugs who were waylaying and robbing people during the morning rush hour.
Wambugu said the officers rushed to the scene and found the group in action.
And when challenged to surrender, the suspected criminals refused, prompting the police to open fire.
The killing of the two increased to four, the number of suspects killed in three days in the city in a new war on crime.
