President William Ruto has reiterated the government’s dedication to bolstering devolution for improved service delivery to citizens.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Second National Executive Retreat attended by the Council of Governors leadership in Naivasha, Nakuru County, President Ruto emphasized the importance of collaboration between the national and county governments.
“We see county governments as valuable partners in delivering our plans and transforming our nation,” President Ruto stated.

He highlighted the Affordable Housing Programme as one of the initiatives where both levels of government are cooperating closely to ensure successful implementation.
President Ruto stressed the need for unity and cooperation, urging members of the Executive to work closely with county governments to avoid counterproductive actions.
“We must align our strategies to bring about positive change collectively,” he emphasized.
Governor Anne Waiguru, chairperson of the Council of Governors, echoed President Ruto’s sentiments, emphasizing the significant impact of the partnership between national and county governments on service delivery.
“We’ve seen the benefits of collaborative efforts, particularly in the health sector. By working together on other devolved functions, we can achieve even more,” Governor Waiguru remarked.
President Ruto’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and development across all regions, regardless of political affiliations.
