Mackenzie And Co-Accused In Mombasa Court Hungry And Weak

Paul Mackenzie, a controversial preacher, along with his co-accused, arrived at Mombasa’s High Court to learn about their bond applications regarding the Shakahola massacre case.

“Some of Mackenzie’s followers from Good News International Ministries looked frail and weak.”

A few appeared too feeble to stand in the dock, reportedly due to a hunger strike lasting three days.

High Court Judge Alex Ithuku directed them to remain in the court’s holding area and be represented by their lawyer.

Last week, Mackenzie and 38 others were charged with various offenses, including child torture, assault, cruelty, and violating a child’s right to education.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions aims to prevent bond for the suspects, citing concerns about flight risks.
