President William Ruto has chosen Charles Keter, the former Energy Cabinet Secretary, to be his advisor for matters concerning the Great Lakes Region.
Keter happily shared this news on Thursday and expressed his gratitude to the President.
“With humility, I wish to express my gratitude to President, Dr William Ruto for appointing me as his Advisor on Great Lakes Region Affairs.
I am deeply honored and grateful for the trust and confidence that he has placed in me by appointing me to this role,” Keter mentioned on Twitter. He’s enthusiastic about the chance to help the Great Lakes Region grow and become more stable under President Ruto’s leadership.
“I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development, prosperity, and stability of the Great Lakes Region under his visionary leadership.”
Keter hasn’t been active in politics since he lost the Kericho gubernatorial election in August 2022 to Eric Mutai.
Before that, he was the Devolution Cabinet Secretary, but he resigned from that position to run for the governor seat.
2015 he became the Energy Cabinet Secretary after being the Kericho Senator since 2013.
