Olga Smirnova, who is associated with the Peaceful Resistance movement, has also been subjected to a three-year prohibition from overseeing websites, according to statements by the OVD-Info civil rights organization, known for its monitoring of arrests involving opposition figures.
A spokesperson from the Kirovsk District Court in Saint Petersburg, in communication with AFP, acknowledged the issuance of Smirnova’s sentence but chose not to delve into the specifics.
In March 2022, Smirnova posted several updates on social media concerning the strategies employed by the Russian army in Ukraine, as well as the loss of civilian lives.
