The two men are expected in court Monday, April 24 over the murder of Risper Ndunge Vaati, 27 whose remains were found dumped outside a residential house on April 18, police said.
The two include Morris Njuguna Mwangi, 28, and his cousin Francis Chege who were arrested on Friday.
Njuguna is a boyfriend to Ndunge.
Police said Njuguna had confessed to the murder of Ndunge.
Chege was arrested in Makuyu after he was found with Ndunge’s mobile phone.
Njuguna took the police to a shop he bought the sack in that he stuffed the body of the woman before he left it about 500 meters from where they stayed.
He said he spent Sh150 on the purchase of the sack.
Police say he and his cousin are expected in court on Monday, April 24 to face murder-related charges.
The police will ask a court to grant them more time to take them to the hospital for mental tests and conduct other checks before they formally charge him with murder.
The police are also yet to determine if both Njuguna and Chege participated in the murder of Ndunge.
The murder incident happened on Monday, April 17 and the man stayed with the body in the house stuffed it in a suitcase and later in a sack before he left it at the scene it was found by neighbors.
Njuguna also informed the officers that the two were working in a hotel within the Kamakis area where the deceased was a cashier and the suspect was a chef.
He informed officers that they had a domestic quarrel where the suspect hit the deceased on the head and killed her instantly.
The suspect then stuffed the body of the deceased in a suitcase that was in the house.
The suspect led the investigation team to a shop where he bought a sack, which he used to dispose of the body in the nearby rental building.
The suspect also led the officers to the Mukuyu area in Muranga where they also recovered the mobile handset of the deceased from his cousin.
The suspect told police he argued with the woman before he hit her out of anger and she fell on the floor before passing out.
When he realized she had died, he decided to find ways of disposing of the body.
He then picked up her mobile phone and took it to his Murang’a home and left it there.
The mobile phone was recovered on Friday morning as part of the evidence.
