
The two were shot by police who had been called to quell a fight between residents of Kambi Waya village in Chepchoina, Trans Nzoia County, and the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC).
Both parties are claiming ownership of the 1,500-acre piece of land.
The locals claim the move by ADC to till the land before a matter pending before the court is concluded was wrong.
ADC says the land is theirs and that the locals have been encroaching on it.
The two who were shot were taken to the local hospital for attention amid tension and more reinforcements.
Many structures on the land were at the weekend flattened by officials.
They had been erected by locals claiming ownership of the land.
ADC CEO Mohamed Bule said they are addressing the tension.
Police said about 30 families are claiming ownership of the land which they claim was occupied by their forefathers.
The matter in court comes up for a hearing on May 8.
Land issues have been thorny in the area and other parts of the country where ADC owns the same.
The areas include Kilifi where ADC runs huge chunks of land.
