Police officers from Dandora Police Station, under the STAPOL unit, conducted a successful crackdown on illicit alcohol in the Dandora Phase V area within Kamukunji Sub-County, Nairobi Region.
During the operation, a key suspect identified as Jedida Mwangi was arrested for allegedly operating an unlicensed business involved in the sale and manufacture of illicit brews, specifically muratina.
Authorities reported the recovery of 215 litres of muratina and a 50-kilogram bag of sugar, believed to be used in the production process.

Additionally, 14,700 litres of muratina were destroyed on site during the raid.
Several individuals described as revellers were also arrested in connection with the illegal activity.
They include: Antony Kemboi, Samson Lailai, Faruk Marionga, Cosmas Muturi, Kingori Mwangi, Peter Njenga, Ngui Mutua, Michael Munyua, Collins Njoroge.
The main suspect, Jedida Mwangi, is set to face charges related to the manufacturing of illicit brews and possession of a significant quantity of muratina.

She has been booked at Dandora Police Station and is expected to appear in court.
Police say the operation is part of an ongoing effort to curb the production and sale of illicit alcohol in Nairobi, and similar actions will continue across the region.
Authorities urge members of the public to report any suspicious activities linked to illegal brews to help safeguard the health and safety of communities.
