Slain Standard journalist Moses Omusolo is set to be buried in his rural home in Busia County on December 30.
Organizers of the funeral said they will proceed with plans to bury him even as police investigate his murder.
A requiem mass is scheduled to take place at Bethel Baptist church in Komarock, Nairobi on December 28, 2022.
Omusolo, who worked as a business reporter, was found dead inside an open trench along Kangundo Road, Kayole on Wednesday December 21 night.
Police said the journalist had suffered a cut on the head, and his mobile phone and personal identification documents were found intact at the scene of crime.
It is believed he was killed elsewhere and body dumped at the scene.
The Media Council asked police to conduct speedy investigations into the death of Omusolo, and instigate appropriate judicial action against the perpetrators.
The journalist recently got engaged, and was planning to wed in February 2023.
Police are yet to establish the motive behind the killing of Omusolo.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said that investigations into the murder of are underway to establish.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that he was killed elsewhere and dumped at the place his body was found. Let us give investigators enough time to do their work and when they finish I will be able to comment on it fully,” said Bungei.
