Nyanza Regional Police Commander Karanja Muiruri said the suspect had been on the run since committing the crime on November 19, 2022.
Karanja said police mounted an intelligence operation on Monday that finally led them to the suspect’s hideout in Kondele area where he was arrested after being positively identified from the CCTV footage.
The suspect will be handed over to Bondo DCI officers who are processing the case.
Karanja said a manhunt is still on for his accomplice who had the AK 47 rifle during the robbery incident.
