Detectives investigating the shocking murder of Victoria Muloki, a taxi driver from Mombasa who was abducted and killed, have made significant progress in the case.
Authorities have linked the main suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, to multiple other murders across the country, raising concerns that he may be a serial offender.
One notable incident occurred in July 2024, when Ng’etich hired another taxi driver, George Njuguna, for a trip from Kisii to Nairobi.
It is believed that during the journey in Gilgil, Ng’etich abducted and killed Njuguna, disposing of his body and stealing his vehicle.
Detectives reported that the stolen car was subsequently sold to an unsuspecting buyer in Nakuru, but has since been recovered.
Additionally, another vehicle linked to Ng’etich was found in Burnt Forest, Uasin Gishu County, after he disclosed its location to investigators.
Authorities are currently working to locate the owner of this second vehicle.
Investigators suspect Ng’etich may be part of a larger group that targets taxi drivers for robbery and murder.
An autopsy on Victoria Muloki’s body is scheduled for Monday. She had accepted a ride request from Ng’etich to travel from Mombasa to Samburu.
Three days later, her body was discovered in a remote area in Lari, Kiambu. Ng’etich was arrested while driving her vehicle in Nakuru, leading to further scrutiny of his activities.
As the investigation unfolds, police are delving deeper into Ng’etich’s criminal history to uncover the full extent of his alleged offenses and any possible connections to other unsolved cases.
The community remains on edge as authorities work to ensure the safety of local taxi drivers.
