Three members of the International Committee of the Red Cross were confirmed dead after their truck was attacked by Russian military forces on September 12, 2024.
The truck, which was part of the Red Cross convoy, exploded following the attack.
The incident occurred in the village of Viroliubivka, near the Donetsk region.
According to a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and confirmed by local Ukrainian officials, three Red Cross workers died at the scene, and two others sustained injuries.
The attack has been attributed to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a point highlighted by President Zelenskiy on social media.
The bombing has left residents of Viroliubivka in fear, exacerbating the distress caused by the recent escalation of violence in the area.
Vadym Filashkin, a local leader, reported on Telegram that the attack has resulted in injuries among the local population as well.
