Tragedy As 2 Drown In Separate Incidents In Eldoret And Narok

Two people were found dead after drowning in separate incidents reported in Eldoret and Narok.

Police said the first incident happened at Ngeria Dam in Megun, Kiambaa, Uasin Gishu County involving a driver of a school.

The victim identified as Francis Kemboi, 40 was a driver at Ngeria West Academy.

He had gone to the dam to wash his van while in the company of his three children.

After the van had been washed, he told his children to get in there and wait for him as he swam in the pool of water.

It was then that he drowned, witnesses said.

His children and the man who washed his van rushed to his aid but it was too late as he had drowned.

The body lay at the scene overnight as it had drowned to the deep end even as the divers from the local county government were engaged to help in retrieving it.

Locals are calling for measures to stop such incidents at the dam.

Elsewhere in Mulot, Narok County, a body was found floating on the Amalo River near Olerai Farm.

The victim was later identified as Winnie Siele who had been missing for three days.

Her body was discovered on September 9 by locals who called police.

The body with no visible injuries was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
