Two Air Rifles Recovered From House In Nairobi’s Spring Valley


Police in Nairobi are investigating the recovery of two air rifles discovered inside a house in the upscale Spring Valley area.

According to police, the firearms were recovered on Friday morning from a house along Spring Valley Road.

The incident was reported by a new owner of the house, who told police he discovered the weapons while cleaning the house that he had recently purchased from a Kenyan national.

Police officers visited the residence and confirmed the recovery of two break-barrel air rifles that use .177 or .22 calibre pellets.

One of the rifles was found with a broken barrel.

The recovered firearms were taken to the station armoury pending further investigations and action by authorities.

Meanwhile, police in Makueni County arrested a 28-year-old man following the death of his elder brother who allegedly succumbed to injuries inflicted during an assault in Mukaa Sub-county.

According to police, the incident was reported after Mutua Kinyanjui, 32, died while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

Police officers visited the assault scene at Kathikwani Village, about 10 kilometres east of the station.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased had allegedly been assaulted by his two brothers, sustaining serious injuries.

The assault case had earlier been reported at Kasikeu Police Post on April 28.

Following the attack, the victim was first taken to Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment, where he later succumbed to the injuries.

The body was moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.

Police confirmed that one suspect, has been arrested and is expected to be arraigned in court on May 11, 2026 to face murder charges
