Two Men Injured In Arrow Attack Along Kisii–Narok Border

Two men were injured after they were shot with arrows along the Kenyanya–Transmara West border on Thursday evening amid heightened security tensions in the area.

A local told police that two of his friends had been attacked while they were along the cut-line separating Kisii and Narok counties.

Police officers visited Kenyenya Sub-County Hospital, where the victims had initially been taken for treatment.

One of them sustained an arrow wound to his left shoulder while the second one was struck by an arrow on the left side of his chest.

The two men were subsequently referred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for specialised treatment, with police reporting that the arrows remained lodged in their bodies.

The incident comes amid an ongoing tense security situation along the Kenyenya–Transmara West border.

Patrol teams from both Kenyenya and Transmara West were deployed to the area to monitor the situation and prevent further incidents.

And the body of an unidentified man, believed to be about 30 years old, was found floating in River Nzoia at Maraka Falls in Webuye East, Bungoma County, on Thursday.

The body was discovered at about 11am by a child who was grazing animals along the river.

Police officers visited the scene and retrieved the body from the river with the assistance of local divers.

The body had visible injuries to the head, although the circumstances surrounding the man’s death were not immediately established.

Police processed, documented and photographed the scene before the body was moved to Webuye Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy and identification.
