At least two people were shot and killed in separate banditry attacks in Isiolo and Meru Counties.
The first incident happened in Garbatula, Isiolo County on April 16 in Kambi Samaki area.
Police said Jarso Guyo, 43 was shot and killed as he and other herders went to drive back sheep that had strayed from a field.
The group was on motorcycles riding back when they were attacked by two gunmen.
Another rider was shot and killed in the attack.
Police said they were pursuing the gang in the attack.
In Ithritii hills, Mutuati, Meru County, a man was found dead after a banditry attack that sparked a shootout, police said.
The body of one John Loyian was found in a thicket after the clash with security officials who were pursuing stolen livestock.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Cases of banditry have been on the rise in the areas amid efforts to address them.
Officials say more personnel have been sent to the places to beef up ongoing operations to address the menace.
The incidents have left dozens of people dead, injured and animals stolen. Police say they are determined to address the menace.
And two suspects were arrested and a stolen pistol with15 bullets recovered from them in Ngong, Kajiado County.
The men are believed to be involved in a series of robberies in the area. Police said the magazine to the pistol had been hidden in a house belonging to one of the suspects while the weapon was in the other’s house.
They were arrested and detained pending other procedures and possible arraignment.
The area has been experiencing a surge in armed crimes which has prompted police operations to address the same.
At least six suspects have been arrested over the trend and are facing charges in courts.
