Two herders were shot dead and tens of animals were stolen in an attack in a village in Marsabit county.
Police said the incident happened at Karatina water point where Guyo Bor Barille, 55, and Guyo Doti aged 25 were herding their livestock when they were attacked and shot dead by bandits.
The bandits drove off with an unknown number of animals in the Thursday evening incident.
The incident comes amid ongoing operations in neighboring counties on the bandits.
More than 140 people have been killed in separate attacks by the bandits in the past seven months in parts of the north rift.
