A 30-year-old woman was electrocuted as she warmed water to use it in washing her clothes in Limuru, Kiambu County.
Police and witnesses said Anne Njoki Kibia was electrocuted while warming water in a bucket using an electric coil.
She wanted to use the water to wash her clothes.
Police said the deceased touched the water while the electric coil was on.
She was electrocuted and died on the spot.
The body was moved to Tigoni mortuary.
The area is usually cold and most locals use electric coils to warm their water for house chores.
Cases of electrocution have been on the rise and are blamed on illegal power connections.
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old girl died by suicide in their compound in a village in Homabay.
The incident happened in Kasimba sub-location where the girl used a rope to hang herself under a water tank tower.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known, police said.
Elsewhere, a 39-year-old woman died by suicide at their house in Matungulu, Machakos County.
The body of Josphine Kavindu Musyoka was found hanging from the rooftop of the house with a bed sheet tied around her neck.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
