A woman was found dead in a lodging she had checked into on Monday in Nakuru Town.
Police said they were called to the scene in Nakuru Town where they found the body of Faith Atieno lying dead in the room.
She had checked into the room on July 27 at night with a man who was missing.
The cause of the death is yet to be known. The body was removed to the local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations, police said.
The woman was later identified by locals as a commercial sex worker.
Police said they are looking for the man who was seen with her in the room.
Cases of murder are on the rise amid police efforts to address them. Some are pending in courts while others are yet to be solved.
Elsewhere, police are investigating the murder of a 32-year-old man at a farm in Ntulele, Narok County.
The body of Nicholas Mwiti, was Monday July 28 found lying on a path leading towards hides and skins store at a farm with blood oozing from the mouth.
The body had a back head injury from a blunt object.
It was established that the deceased was a casual labourer at the farm.
The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations and autopsy.
And three suspects were arrested over the fatal shooting of a fuel attendant in Kitheo area, Tigania, Meru County.
Police produced the three in court and successfully applied to hold them for ten days pending investigations.
They were identified as Obadiah Muriira, Martin Mugambi and Edward Mwika.
They were produced at the local court for the murder of the attendant on July 23 during a robbery mission.
Police said they are looking for the weapon that was used in the mission.
